"Liberators over Mille Island" Recon & Expedition

Our search for two B-24 Liberators (medium range bombers) and their crew that went missing over Mile Island in the Marshall chain, in 1944.

Objective: Find the lost B-24 Liberators (probably two but as many as six) that went missing over or near Mille Island in 1944. Identify remains and begin the repatriation process of crew.

Leads and Contacts:

  • Washington, D.C. based Marauder researcher Jerry Beser has found what he calls "astonishing new data" (Navy Action Reports) regarding several 3-man aircrafts that were flying off the Yorktown that were lost around Mille.
